The South 24th Street Walking Tour has 3-15 participants taking an approximate 60-90 minute walk along five to six blocks. A paid tour guide leads the group to 8-10 sites and engages the participants between these sites. What is the schedule for tours? REGULAR SCHEDULE - The tour schedule in 2011 will run from April 7 thru June 25 and from August 4 thru October 15. Each week there will be two regular tours – Thursday at 4:30PM and Saturday at 11:00AM. PRIVATE SCHEDULE - Groups of 3 or more can schedule a tour date and time of their choosing. Please allow several days notice prior to your scheduled date. Call 402-709-2586 to arrange. What is the cost for the tour? The tour cost is $10/person or $15/pair. Groups of eight or more can call or email to receive a discounted rate. How does one pay for the tour? Please use the PayPal system on the website to pay using your credit card or PayPal. Groups that arrange for tours in advance can negotiate other methods of payment with Omaha Urban Neighborhoods. If last minute attendees arrive, exact cash only will be accepted at the beginning of the tour. Where is parking available? The large parking lot on the west side of 24th and N is available. Please enter this free lot from 25th Street. Street parking is usually available on the lettered street names, i.e., M, N, or O. Where does the tour begin and end? The tour begins on the northwest corner of 24th and N Streets. Watch for our tour "sandwich board" sign. Complete the tour in the 24th and N parking area. What happens if the weather is bad? The tour will occur unless Omaha Urban Neighborhoods informs the attendees that the tour has been cancelled for that day. New dates will be scheduled for participants. In case of quick-changing weather, tour guides and participants will use common sense judgment. Are all the areas of the tour accessible? Curb cuts for wheelchairs can be had at each corner. Walk-in sites may have alternate entrances, if needed. What can make the tour easy and fun for me?
